The client “AM Furnitūra” used an automated storage system managed by the “Woodstore” software, into which orders were fed from the optimization program. The automated storage system transported raw boards or remnants to the cutting machines. The client also actively sells board materials or their remnants without a cutting service, and this type of sale is performed using the ERP system. Problematic situations sometimes arose when the same remnant of board material was sold by managers and used in production simultaneously. The client decided that such problems must be solved to avoid negative situations in the future. The decision was made to perform material reservation in the automated storage system when the sale process for such materials is organized in the ERP system…

The automated storage system processes data in a Microsoft SQL database. SQL procedures were created in this database, which allow materials to be reserved or to cancel their reservation in the automated storage system. When entering an order in the ERP system, these procedures are called, and the reservation is executed. When the order is canceled in the ERP system, the reservation is canceled, and the board material unit becomes available to all other systems used in the company. The system integration was successfully tested and is being successfully used. The completed integration opens up further possibilities for its expansion, which the client is already planning in the near future.
1Problem solved regarding the use of the same material unit in different systems simultaneously
2Environment created for further integration expansion
